Slideshows

I have uploaded a number of slideshows/presentations to the excellent slide sharing site, www.slideshare.net. Other students who are sitting your exams have left messages to say that they have found some of them helpful (and some not so!). Here they all are in one post. Remember, they are all intended just to support your other revision, and do not simply “play” them, but click through each slide at your own paste. Feel free to leave a comment to say whether or not you have found them useful!

Year 11 Revision Slideshow

Hello! I hope that this powerpoint might stir a few memories when you do a bit of last minute revising over the weekend …! I wish you all the very best. Any last minute questions, please post them by clicking on the comments button.

Wealth and Poverty: Evaluation Question

“The love of money is the root of all evil.”

Do you agree? Give reasons for your opinion, showing that you have considered another point of view. Refer to Christianity in your answer.

(This would be worth 8 marks in the exam. Remember to give at least two reasons for and two reasons against this statement.)

Write your answer as a comment. Hopefully you will all give different, interesting responses, so that you can learn from each other and build up a very good example answer.

Wealth and Poverty: Biblical Quotes

Here are a few useful Biblical passages that you should know for the section on Wealth and Poverty in the Year 11 Unit C exam – it’s the fifth section. Learn them, but also know what they teach Christians about what their attitude towards wealth and poverty should be.

1 Timothy 6:9-10 (The love of money …)

Matthew 6:24 (… the slave of two masters …)

Mark 10:21-26 (… a camel to pass through the eye of a needle …)

1 John 3:17-18 (… sees his brother in need …)

Luke 10:25-37 (Parable of the Good Samaritan)

Matthew 25:31-46 (Parable of the Sheep and the Goats)

It would be helpful for others if you write a comment below saying what you have learnt from these verses.
